CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Due to the lack of rainfall, Clarion County is now experiencing severe dry conditions. These conditions have prompted the Clarion County Fire Departments and the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources (DCNR) to request a burn ban.

The Clarion County Commissioners, in an effort to protect property and lives, are activating a countywide burn effective July 29.

All open burning will be prohibited for the next 30 days and may be extended if dry conditions persist. The burn ban applies to all outdoor burning defined as the ignition and subsequent burning of any combustible material, including garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, litter, paper, vegetative matter involved with land clearing, or any sort of debris, out of doors either in the burn barrel or on the ground.

A copy of Resolution No. 4 of 2016 imposing a countywide ban on outdoor burning can be found on the county website at www.co.clarion.pa.us.
