Clarion Forest VNA Goodwill Committee Provides Patients with Extra Help Over Holiday Season

CLARION, Pa, (EYT) — While the employees at Clarion Forest VNA provide helpful and caring services to their patients, there are other ways they help out in small ways that mean so much. The agency established the Goodwill Committee to give that extra needed help.

The Goodwill Committee is a way for the nurses at Clarion Forest VNA to give back to patients in need. Throughout the year, donations are gathered from the agency’s employees via payroll deductions, special luncheons, “Jean Days,”Sports Days,” and other various ways.

With these donations, the agency is able to provide patients with the items they can’t afford.

Clarion Forest VNA CEO Jill Over told exploreClarion.com, “Without such an amazing staff, our agency would not be able to continue to provide the care we do, and we would not be able to help our community in such a giving manner.”

Below is just a small list of some of the things the Clarion Forest VNA Goodwill Committee and the staff have purchased for their patients:

  • A pair of glasses
  • Two batteries for hospice patient’s motorized scooter
  • Medications for patients — prescriptions and over the counter meds that they can’t afford
  • Food and clothing items
  • Fans for the summertime when the heat becomes unbearable
  • Gas cards for trips to doctor or other medical treatments
  • A shoe lift
  • Walmart gift cards for groceries and/or other home supplies
  • Wound care supplies
  • Canes, tub benches, gait belt, and other medical equipment
  • Car repair/car inspection
  • Thanksgiving food; Christmas food and gifts and other festive items
