Sharon MylarskiSharon E. Mylarski, 75, of 205 Park Avenue Oil City, PA., passed at 2:30 P.M.

Monday Dec. 5, 2016 at home surrounded by her family one year after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born August 17, 1941 in Dubois, PA., she was the daughter of Rosalie M. LaBue Armstrong and the late D. Franklin Armstrong.

As an infant Sharon’s family moved to Oil City where she attended St. Joseph’s School, before moving to Florida where she graduated from Edgewater High School in
Orlando. After graduation, she worked briefly in Florida and Buffalo, New York. Sharon returned to Oil City and married Thomas “Tim” Haslett with whom she had three children.

On July 18th, 1974 she married Dennis Mylarski who survives. Sharon returned to the workforce and worked for Pennzoil, first as secretary of the Cherry Run Terminal. Ultimately, she worked her way up to terminal manager and held that position at the time of Pennzoil’s closing. Sharon finished her working career as secretary to the principal at Oil City High School.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She also belonged to TFI(True Friends Incorporated), the”Swim Team” and her Card Club.

Sharon loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, was an avid reader and completing the puzzles in the Derrick everyday. She looked forward to spending winters in Florida which gave her the opportunity to visit her mother and a brother.

Known as “Mimi” she is survived by her three children, Michael Haslett & his wife Lisa of Moon Twp., Daniel Haslett & his wife Missy of Mt. Lebanon, Christine Salvo of Oil City and her friend Brent Mader; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Sarah and Emily Haslett, Abby, Benjamin and Megan Haslett, Maria and Madison Salvo; her mother, Rosalie Armstrong of Zephyrhills, FL; two brothers Daniel Armstrong of Longview,TX and James Armstrong & his wife Linda of Dade City, FL.

She was preceded in death by her father and dear friends Edie Osgood and Patti Horne.

It was Sharon’s wish to be cremated in her favorite Steelers sweatshirt.

Friends will be received from 10:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Friday in Grace United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Church with Rev. Byron Myers, Pastor, Presiding. This will be followed by a lunch in the Church. A private inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
