YMCA Giving Tree Offers Hope and Health to Area Kids

CLARION, Pa. — Christmas is a time of giving, of sharing and showing love to others. The YMCA is tremendously grateful for continued community support of the Clarion County YMCA.

The YMCA Giving Tree supports local youth who do not have the opportunity to participate in youth sports programs or purchase a YMCA youth membership. Donors are giving hope and health to children in Clarion County. YMCA Giving tree gifts support those in our community who need a little help to learn, grow and thrive.

Giving Tree gifts come in any amount. Donors decide how much to give. There are two ways to contribute. Donors may bring hope to a child’s life by selecting a card off the YMCA Giving Tree or by making an online contribution at www.clarioncountyymca.org/GivingTree. All gifts go directly toward the YMCA Annual Scholarship fund for helping local children in need take part in YMCA programs.

“We know we have a tremendous life-long impact on the kids we mentor,” said Jesse Kelley, Branch Director. “We wanted to offer community members an impactful way to give to local kids this holiday season.”

Kelley noted there are many kids in the community who need the services and help the YMCA provides.

“With the help of donors, we give membership and program scholarships to over 100 children in need every year. Kids receive swimming lessons, youth sports and summer day camp scholarships for families with a substantial need. No one is turned away for financial reasons. All this is accomplished through our Annual Campaign.”
