Paul-Lehman-1481290561Paul L. Lehman Sr., 86 of Franklin passed away at 1:30 A.M. Friday December 9, 2016 at Sugarcreek Station surrounded by his loving children from complications of a long battle with Alzheimers.

Born at his family home in Franklin on February 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Ephraim and Nellie Doerr Lehman.

He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Paul worked for over 43 years at Joy Manufacturing as a machinist. He was a very hard working man who had the reputation of someone who could fix anything. For over 60 years, Paul was a well-known in the area for being able to fix various watches and clocks.

Paul was raised on a farm as a child and then went on to own a 200 acre farm of his own. He loved to plow his fields on his beloved John Deere tractor. He raised many animals over the years and also ran an Oil Well on his farm. He enjoyed hunting; golf and sitting on his porch watching nature pass by in front of him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was a long time member of the Sandycreek Grange and also served as 4-H Leader. Paul formerly served on the Graham Cemetery Committee.

Paul was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin.

He proudly served his country during the Korean War and earned a sharp shooter award.
On July 13, 1951, Paul married the former Doris M. Snyder and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2003.

Surviving are three children; Paul L. Lehman Jr. and his wife Kelly of Franklin, Joetta Lehman of Greenwood, IN and Jenny Lehman of Franklin; four grandchildren, Tamara Curry, Melissa Bell, Jessica Snyder and her husband Monte and Tavia Paden and her husband Ronald; nine great grandchildren, Damon Curry, Halle Curry, Jacob Lehman, Dakota Boone, Liberty Bell, Landon Bell, Parker Bell, Benjamin Bell and Trinity Wright.

Additionally surviving are six sisters, Alice Neufeld of Oil Dale, CA, Dorothy Sopher of Franklin, Lucy Ratzlaff of Shaffer, CA, Mildred Cozad and her husband Albert of Franklin, Gladys Hites of Rousville and Kathleen Harrington and her husband David of Franklin and one brother, Roy Lehman and his wife Maxine of Franklin.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Florence Ross and Ethel Orlando; two brothers, Glenn Lehman and David Lehman and a grandson, SFC Kenneth Paul Lehman.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church 1135 Buffalo St. Franklin with Rev. David Janz and Rev. Sam Wagner, officiating.

Interment with follow at Graham Cemetery where full military honors rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
