ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 4:48 p.m. on December 10, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, near mile marker 44, in Allegheny Township, Butler County.

Police say 19-year-old Dylan P. Curtis, of O Fallon, IL, and 30-year-old Noah A. Napolitano, of Litchfield, CT, were involved in the collision.

According to police, a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Curtis, and a 2000 Volkswagen Golf, driven by Napolitano, were traveling on I-80 in the left lane at a high rate of speed while negotiating a right curve in the roadway.

At this time, Curtis lost control of his Chevrolet and started to spin in a counterclockwise direction. The Volkswagen then struck the Chevrolet. The initial impact occurred between the front end of the Chevrolet and the front end of the Volkswagen.

After the first impact, the Chevrolet struck the concrete barrier on the left side of the roadway and then came to rest against it.

The Volkswagen came to a final rest on the right berm of the road.

Curtis and Napolitano were not injured.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

A passenger in Curtis’ car — 19-year-old Stephanie J. Gwiazda, of Parma, OH — suffered possible injuries, police say.

She was not using a seat belt.

Emlenton EMS assisted at the scene.

Both drivers were charged with traffic violations.
