Joseph E. Heasley

USAF CMSgt. (Ret.) Joseph E. Heasley, age 82 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday December 11, 2016 at the WPAFB Medical Center.

He was born February 7, 1934 in Oil City, PA, the son of the late Clyde G. and Agnes V. (Hays) Heasley.

Joseph served his country in the United States Air Force during Korea and Vietnam, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant; and followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring in 1997 after over 45 years of combined federal service.

He was a longtime member of Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fairborn.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2013; and three brothers, Charles, Jack, and James Heasley.

He is survived by five children, Joseph E., Jr. (Cathy) of Denver, CO, Gregory G. (Teresa) of Huber Heights, Cynthia A. (David) Luczak of Menomonee Falls, WI, Stephen A. (Brenda) of Xenia, Mark J. (Melissa) of Huber Heights; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of WPAFB Medical Center for their dedicated service and care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave., Fairborn, Rev. Thomas A. Nevels Celebrant.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until the time of mass at the church.

Burial with full military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fisher-Nightingale Houses, PO Box 33871, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433.
