‘Shooting Threat’ Caused Clarion Hospital Lockdown

CLARION, Pa. — Officials say a shooting threat caused Clarion Hospital to go on lockdown Monday afternoon.

Julie Kunselman, Clarion Hospital Director of Marketing, issued the following press release:

Code Silver at Clarion Hospital

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12th, a code silver alarm was activated at Clarion Hospital.

The facility was placed on lockdown after a shooting threat was made by telephone.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.

Clarion Hospital remained on lockdown until the threat was cleared.

Ongoing Investigation

PCO Miller, of PSP Clarion, told exploreClarion.com, “There isn’t anything that can be released at this time because it is an ongoing investigation.”

A review by exploreClarion.com of court documents filed in Clarion County District Court did not reveal any arrests related to terroristic threats charges.

Additionally, no one was lodged in the Clarion County Jail today on charges related to a threat.

This is second time in 35 days that the Clarion Hospital has been placed on lockdown.
