The loss moves the Golden Eagles to 5-5 on the season.

The Blue and Gold will return to action on December 30th when they take on Pitt-Johnstown.

Jamani Pierce paced the Golden Eagles offensively, leading the team with 17 points, going 5-8 from the field, as well as knocking down seven of nine from the free-throw line. Manny Powell also enjoyed a strong performance, putting up 14 points and adding six assists. Akeem Williams and RJ Laugand each posted a team-high five rebounds.

Although the Blue and Gold managed to knock down 11 three-pointers on the evening, they could not outlast a physically tough Hilltoppers squad that out-rebounded them 47-33. Down just five points at the end of the first 20 minutes, West Liberty’s size advantage in the paint was enough of an advantage to stave off any hopes of a Golden Eagles comeback.
