TIONESTA, Pa. – Driving while under the influence of alcohol remains one of the leading causes of death among young adults in the United States of America. Therefore, in an effort to educate students on this illegal practice, a mock trial was held at the Forest County Courthouse.

Ninth and 10th grade students competed against one another in the fictional trial of Foley v Welby. Magisterial District Judge Daniel L. Miller presided over the event.

Following the trial, students received a tour of the Courthouse and the jail.

Forest County’s dedicated employees were extremely gracious with their time.

Many students gained a deeper understanding of the law, and its impact on everyday lives.
