Two Local Men Seriously Injured After Trucks Collide on Route 28

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two area men were airlifted to an Altoona hospital following a collision on Route 28 in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

The accident happened around 6:35 p.m. on State Route 28 just west of Seldom Seen Road.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say a southbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Kevin E. Thrush, 53, of Brookville, struck a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Randall L. Norris, 59, of DuBois.

Upon impact, Thrush’s vehicle spun counter-clockwise and came to a final rest on an embankment.

Norris’ vehicle came to a final rest facing north in the middle of the travel lanes.

Thrush and Norris were airlifted to UPMC Altoona for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by McPherson’s Towing.
