Snow-Covered Roadway Causes One-Vehicle Crash on Route 36

ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a one-vehicle crash occurred early yesterday morning on Tionesta Road (State Route 36), in Allegheny Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 5:29 a.m., a 2003 Dodge Durango — driven by 20-year-old Daniel J. Dietrich, of Titusville — was traveling north on Route 36.

Police say the Dodge started to fishtail on the snow-covered roadway, and Dietrich applied the brakes. The Dodge slid off the left side of the road where it struck a tree. The vehicle came to a final rest against the tree.

Dietrich was using a seat belt and was not injured.
