BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Jefferson County man is facing numerous felony charges for allegedly sending sexually explicit texts to underage girls in Brookville.

According to a criminal complaint filed on January 9, Brookville Police Officer Turnbull was contacted by a concerned citizen about a male texting sexually explicit messages to three underage females in Brookville.

The male — who identified himself to the girls as “Adam” — was attempting to get the underage girls to meet him. Police were able to obtain the suspect’s phone number after interviewing the girls.

Officer Turnbull then texted the suspect and posed as a 16-year-old girl named “Jamie.” The suspect continued to identify himself as “Adam” and discussed meeting with “Jamie.”

“Adam” was later identified as Richard E. Tokarcik, Jr., 53, of Brockway.

Around 9:24 p.m., the suspect texted back and initiated a conversation.

Officer Turnbull used a second cellular device to contact “Adam.” This time, Officer Turnbull identified himself as “Sam,” the fictitious 15-year-old sister of “Jamie.”

The suspect sent various explicit messages and continued to discuss meeting with the two individuals who he believed were underage girls.

On January 7, the suspect again made contact and agreed to meet the two individuals at Longview Park in Brookville. He encouraged “Jamie” and “Sam” to be “drunk for him.”

Around midnight, Tokarcik stated that he was on his way to the Brookville area. He was taken into custody without incident near Henry’s Car Wash.

After he was taken into custody, Tokarcik told investigators that he was “lonely and trying to find someone.”

Tokarcik stated that he “knew Sam and Jamie were underage and that he made a bad choice.”

He told police that he arrived in Brookville “with the intention to meet and possibly have sex with both Jamie and Sam.”

Tokarcik also said that he may not have “had the courage to have sex with either of the girls.”

The following charges were filed against Tokarcik at Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office:

  • Criminal Attempt — Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 Years Older, Felony 1
  • Criminal Solicitation — Child Pornography, Felony 3
  • Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
  • Child Pornography, Felony 3
  • Contact/Communication with a Minor-Sexual Abuse, Felony 3
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3 (9 counts)

Tokarcik was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $100,000.00 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for January 24 with Judge Bazylak presiding.
