ALLEGHENY CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man was formally arraigned in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on charges stemming from a home invasion.
According to online court documents, on January 11, Shain William Focht, 28, of Franklin, faces the following charges:
- Burglary — Overnight Accommodation, Person Present, Felony 1
- Robbery-Inflict Threat Imm Bod Injury, Felony 2 (two counts)
- Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
- Conspiracy — Robbery-Inflict Threat Imm Bod Injury, Felony 1
The following original charges were withdrawn:
- Criminal Mischief/Damage Property Intent, Reckless, Or Negligence, Misdemeanor 3
- Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
- Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure, Felony 2
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on January 27 in front of Judge David R. Cashman in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
According to a previous story on explorevenango.com, police said Focht, along with Russell Crawshaw, of Pittsburgh, and Michael Priester, of Karthaus, Clearfield County, used baseball bats to break into an apartment along Freeport Road on November 7, 2016.
Once inside the apartment, the suspects allegedly assaulted and robbed two individuals.
Following a foot chase, Focht was apprehended by Aspinwall Police.
Priester was taken into custody following a traffic stop, and Crawshaw was arrested the next day.
Allegheny County police investigated and said the suspects took a wallet and cell phones.
Police say the three men knew their victims.
Focht has a lengthy arrest record, including charges for DUI while under the influence of a controlled substance, drug use, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, simple assault, driving without a license, and being involved in an accident that involved death or injury.
Focht is free on $10,000.00 monetary bail awaiting his trial.
