Women’s March on Clarion Set for Saturday

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A “sister march” in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday will also be held in Clarion starting at 10:00 a.m..  Sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the rally is not against any politician or political party.

“There are people who would want to participate in the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday, but just can’t, and I thought we should do something here in Clarion,” said Elisabeth Fulmer.

“It’s starting at 10;00 a.m. in front of the Fulmer House on the corner of Wood Street and Seventh Avenue in Clarion.  We’re still waiting for confirmation from Clarion County Commissioners about using the Gazebo, but we will head out about 10:30 for the park, and at 11:00 a.m. have a few brief comments about some of the issues that we’re interested in. Everyone is welcome.”

More information is available at a Facebook Event Page called Women’s March on Clarion or call Fuller at 814-226-4887. The Facebook page will include any changes in plans for the march.

According to the Facebook page, the event will be in support of the following issues:

1. Women’s Rights are Human Rights

2. Voting Rights

3. Reforming Money in Politics

4. Health Care

5. The Environment
