CLARION, Pa. — UPMC Northwest and the YMCA are partnering to improve and enhance the quality of life for people in Clarion County through their new Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Phase III of UPMC’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program is now located at the Clarion County YMCA. UPMC staffs the program with a certified RN and physician oversight.
This program is designed for those who have experienced a cardiac event and completed phase I and II of a cardiac rehabilitation program. The program is also ideal for those who suffer from heart disease, hypertension or diabetes, fibromyalgia or strokes and need to increase cardiovascular activity.
Cardiac Rehabilitation can help improve and maintain cardiovascular health for people recovering from an illness or event or those who are at risk. Participants in the program will develop muscle strength, endurance and flexibility.
Cardiac rehabilitation will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. each week at the YMCA.
Participants may arrive and get started anytime from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The program atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. The program will allow participants to build confidence and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Physician referral is requested to participate in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program.
The cost for Cardiac Rehabilitation is $20.00 a month for YMCA members. Please contact the Clarion County YMCA for more information.

The Clarion County YMCA hours are: Weekdays 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
