BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Knox man is facing drug charges after he allegedly sold marijuana from his residence in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to online court documents, Clarion County Detective William H. Peck, IV, filed criminal charges against 63-year-old Clifford D. McElhattan of Knox.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:30 p.m. on May 16, 2016, CNET (Clarion County Narcotics Enforcement Team) made a purchase of Marijuana from Clifford D. McElhattan at his residence located on McElhattan Road, in Knox, in exchange for $115.00 in U.S. currency, using a confidential informant (C.I.). (The C.I. had indicated to CNET that he/she could purchase Marijuana from McElhattan and that he/she had purchased Marijuana numerous times in the past from him.)

The complaint states that Detective Peck mailed the evidence to the Erie Regional Lab via certified mail, and on November 30, Forensic Scientist David A. Eddinger submitted a lab report confirming the evidence was 7.47 grams of Marijuana, a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance.

McElhattan was arraigned at 11:00 a.m. on January 27 in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk on the following charges:

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, McElhattan was lodged in Clarion County Jail.
