Woman Killed After Car Crashes into Tree in Forest County

BARNETT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 31-year-old woman was killed when the vehicle she was riding in struck a tree along Route 899 in Barnett Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police say 26-year-old Mikeya S. Geiger was traveling north on State Route 899 around 8:29 a.m. when her 2012 Nissan Altima exited the west side of the roadway and struck a tree.

State Police say a 31-year-old female passenger was killed in the crash. She was not wearing a safety belt.

Authorities did not release the identity of the deceased.

A second passenger — 31-year-old Chakia C. Sowell — suffered minor injuries.

Geiger escaped injury.

All occupants of the vehicle were residents of Philadelphia.
