Clarion U. Officially Inks 14 on Signing Day; Two Other D9 Players Headed to Golden Eagles

CLARION, Pa. (D9Sports) — Two District 9 players were among the 14 players announced as having signed National Letters of Intent with the Clarion University football team Wednesday and a two additional D9 players told D9Sports.com they have committed to the Golden Eagles as well.

Kane’s Keaton Rounsville and Clearfield’s Richard Massimino were on the official list released by the university. In addition, Redbank Valley’s Patrick Crawford signed told D9Sports.com he signed his letter of intent Thursday and Brockway’s Jarrett Esposito told D9Sports.com he signed with the Golden Eagles late Wednesday. Esposito is following in the footsteps of his brother, Phil, and will kick for Clarion.

Crawford, who played on both sides of the ball for the Bulldogs, hopes to student Education and History with the intention of teaching middle school and coaching football. He is the son of Pat and Patty Crawford of Distant.

Also on the official list released by the university are Hayfield (Va.)’s Jack Blevins, Montour’s Cameron Colliers, Camden Catholic (N.J.)’s Kyle Dupree, McDonough (Md.)’s Dervonn Holton, Timber Creek (N.J.)’s Dimere Kyles, Cardinals Wuerl North Catholic’s Mario Latronica, South Park’s Adam Morris, South Allegheny’s Ian Naspinski, Deer Lake’s Billy Palmiere, Westfield (Va.)’s Edward Quitugua, Camden (N.J.)’s Deron Wharton and Timer Creek (N.J.)’s Dante Witcher.

“This is a group that we’re really excited to welcome to Clarion,” third-year head coach Chris Weibel said. “They represent everything we want in student-athletes here at Clarion, and they show their commitment both on the field and in the classroom. This is the kind of foundation we’re looking to build.”‘
