Say What?!: ISS Astronaut Throws Longest Ever Football Pass (Well, Sort of)

HOUSTON, Texas — NASA astronauts are claiming to have set a new record for the longest football pass in history, but chances are it won’t make the cut for Guinness World Records. It seems the lack of gravity played a huge role.

Astronaut Tim Kopra, aboard the International Space Station, tossed the pigskin for 564,664 yards. Considering the station is moving at 17,500 mph, the ball traveled at 8,800 seconds per yard.
