Five Lucinda Residents Escape Injury in Cranberry Crash

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Venango Co. (EYT) — Five Clarion County residents escaped injury after a crash on Horsecreek Road in Cranberry Township Sunday night.

Around 9:40 p.m., Jerome H. Schmader, 50, of Lucinda, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander east on Horsecreek Road near its intersection with Meadow Road. As he approached the intersection, Schmader failed to see the stop sign and slid through the intersection before hitting the sign and a tree.

Four passengers in the vehicle — Jerome J. Schmader, 25, of Lucinda, Justin M. Schmader, 24, of Lucinda, Karlee R. Cyphert, 25, of Leeper, and a 17-year-old Lucinda male — were all wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.

The Uplander was not drivable and was removed by Minich’s Towing. Seneca Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
