Knox Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Beaver Township

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, 1/4 mile from Exit 53, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, 46-year-old Jody L. Slater, of Knox, and 61-year-old Izet Svraka, of Glenview, IL, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 11:50 p.m. on February 17, Slater was traveling west on I-80 in a 2017 Ford Focus near mile marker 54. The Ford was in the right lane and failed to maintain its appropriate lane of travel. The car crossed the dashed white line and impacted a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by Svraka.

Both vehicle came to a final rest on the south shoulder of I-80 near Exit 53.

Police say Slater was unresponsive as emergency crews responded to the scene.

He was transported to UPMC Presbyterian. His condition is unknown.

Svraka was not injured.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Knox Fire Department and Knox EMS assisted at the scene.
