State Police: Man Crashes Vehicle in Emlenton After Overdosing on Illegal Drug, Passing Out

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 7:35 p.m. on February 23, an accident occurred on College Street, in Emlenton Borough, after the driver overdosed and passed out.

According to police, the driver — a known man — of 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 was using an illegal drug while the vehicle was stopped along College Street. The vehicle was in “Drive,” and the known man had his foot on the brakes. He overdosed and passed out, and his foot slipped off the brake and idled into the back of a 2011 Chevrolet HHR.

The known man was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to UPMC Northwest.

A check of online court documents indicates that charges had not been filed against the suspect as of Saturday morning.
