PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An inmate at Clarion County Jail is facing new charges after he allegedly threatened to kill two correction officers and their families.

Court documents indicate that Officer Sprankle, Deputy Warden at the Clarion County Corrections, filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Joseph David Supik, of New Bethlehem, who is serving a sentence for a previous incident.

According to a criminal complaint, Joseph Supik is in lockdown at the facility for a previous incident of misconduct. As part of his status, he is permitted one hour out of lockdown each day.

That complaint states that around 9:45 a.m. on February 19, a correction officer provided Supik his hour out of lockdown. At approximately 10:45 a.m., the correction officer instructed Supik that his hour was up, and he needed to return to his cell. Supik argued that his hour was not up, and he refused to return to his cell. The correction officer had to physically escort Supik to his cell as Supik continued to resist. The correction officer ultimately placed him back into the cell and locked him down.

Once in his cell, Supik stated to the correction officer, “All right, I got you. I know where you live….I am going to shoot your house with your family in it….I am going to kill all of you….I will do it with my AR-15….You are going to pay for this….I am going to make sure I kill you,” the complaint indicates.

The complaint states that around 2:45 p.m. on the same day, another correction officer noticed the floor in front of Supik’s cell was wet. Supik was asked why the floor was wet, and he responded that his toilet overflowed. It was noted that just minutes earlier the floor was not wet, so Supik was questioned as to why he intentionally flooded his cell.

Supik became enraged and began banging his head off of his cell door window. He spit out the window and urinated under his door. He began making derogatory statements towards the correction officer and advised him that he was going to kill him and his family, the complaint continues.

The water to Supik’s cell was turned off to prevent any further flooding, and Supik was then moved to the intake cell area until the water could be cleaned up, according to the complaint.

Following the investigation, Supik was arraigned at 10:55 a.m. on March 1 at Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office on two counts of Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another, a first-degree misdemeanor.

For this incident, Judge Schill set bail at $50,000.00 monetary.

Supik remains in the Clarion County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on March 21 in front of Judge Schill.
