Clarion County Wrestlers Fall Short of Reaching Hershey

SHARON, Pa. (EYT) — It was a quiet day for the Clarion County wrestlers at Saturday’s Class AA Northwest Regional Tournament in Sharon.

The Clarion Bobcats had two wrestlers in the wrestlebacks after both lost their semifinal matches Saturday morning, but neither 152-pounder Mike LeFay nor 220-pounder Tom Wurster could get a win to reach the place matches and qualify for the PIAA Championships.

For LeFay, he met Brockville’s Caleb Hetrick and lost by tech fall, 15-0, to drop into the wrestlebacks.

There, he was pinned by Kane’s Aiden Hulings.

For Wurster, he lost to Greenville’s Blake Reynolds, 14-0, in the semifinals and then fell to Reynolds’s Derek Skeehan, 4-3.

At 285 pounds, Keystone’s Tyler VanTassel lost in the quarters Friday and then in the wrestlebacks, by forfeit, to Reynolds’s Jarod Miller.
