Three Sligo Residents Face Charges in Fifth Ave Meth Bust

CLARION BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Three people were arrested on felony drug charges after a Clarion Borough traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia.

According to a criminal complaint filed on Monday by Clarion-based State Trooper Tate, the incident occurred on March 3 around 12:40 p.m. in Clarion Borough.

Tpr. Tate was on foot when she observed two wanted individuals — Matthew I. Goodman and Michelle E. Goodman — in a white Ford Mustang stopped at the intersection of Main Street and 6th Avenue.

The vehicle continued traveling and then momentarily parked in the rear parking lot of CVS before heading to North 5th Avenue near Main Street, according to the criminal complaint.

Tpr. Tate immediately contacted the Clarion-based State Police barracks to request assistance in apprehending the wanted individuals.

Clarion Borough Police Officer Kemmer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle while Tpr. Tate responded on foot.

Matthew Goodman and Michelle Goodman were taken into custody on active warrants. A third passenger — Jamie L. Kifer — was taken into custody after it was determined that she was a PA State Parole absconder, according to the criminal complaint.

In plain view on the left rear floor of the vehicle, police observed what appeared to be aluminum foil wrapped around coffee filters. Tpr. Tate recognized these items as drug paraphernalia used to package methamphetamine.

The driver — Heidi N. Switzer — gave consent to a search of the vehicle.

The search yielded multiple loose and crushed pills in a Ziplock bag, 11 coffee filters packaged for delivery with methamphetamine inside, 7 coffee filters with methamphetamine residue, a smoking device, 2 straws, and 2 folds of aluminum foil with burnt residue.

Tpr. Tate subsequently filed the following charges at Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office in Clarion:
