Annual Clarion Rotary Club’s Auction Held Today; Over $40,000 in Items Available

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The Annual Clarion Rotary Club’s Radio Auction will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The auction has over $40,000.00 in merchandise and local services and can be heard live on WWCH 1300 AM/C93 – 92.7 FM and streamed on www.c93radio.com.   The auction bidding guide will be printed in the Thursday, March 9, Clarion News and the Midweek News.

This year’s auction items include give certificates to many local Clarion businesses, concert tickets, and certificates to local services.  A sampling of the items includes the items: Apple Watch Sport Nike; Go Pro Hero 5 Camera; Xbox One; iPad; Parrot Drone with camera; tickets for acts like Florida Georgia Line, Nelly & Chris Lane and Luke Bryan, Brett Aldridge; Ninja Kitchen Processor; and many more.

The Rotary Auction begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, and the call-in number is 814-393-1704 or 1-800-437-0488 for outside of the Clarion Area.  The Auction switchboard will be open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, so bidders can pre-register for a bidding number.  Items can be picked up at the Clarion Chamber office at 650 Main Street, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Master Card and Visa, checks, and cash are accepted.

The Clarion Rotary Club spends about $30,000.00 per year on local community oriented projects.  All proceeds from the Rotary Auction support local community service projects.

A few of the things that Clarion Rotary supports are:

  • Student Scholarships — $4,000.00 per year
  • RYLA – Leadership academy for about 10 students
  • ROVA – A vocational academy for about 10 students
  • Clarion Hospital Cancer Center – Contributed $30,000.00 over a five year period (Capital Building Campaign)
  • Clarion YMCA – Contributed $50,000.00 over a four year period (Capital Building Campaign)
  • VNA – New Building Construction project
  • World Affairs Conference of Pittsburgh – About 12 students
  • Local Library Support
  • United Way
  • Toys for Tots
  • Little League Baseball

Over two-thirds of the money needed to do all of these things comes from the Clarion Rotary Radio Auction.

The Clarion Rotary Club holds weekly meeting on Monday at noon at the Clarion Forest Visiting Nurses Building on Perkins Drive.
