Breakfast and lunch will be provided as usual.

With regard to the boiler situation, the administration anticipates receiving the final air quality results over the weekend.

Forest Area School District Superintendent Amanda Hetrick told exploreClarion, com, “On Friday, tests were completed to ensure everything was ventilating properly. The control system was thoroughly inspected, and there were no problems with motors, transformers, or other systems.”

“We believe that we are getting closer to a solution and hope to have students back in their regular school soon.”

The situation began on Monday, March 6, as an unusual odor was noticed in the school; the source of the odor was thought to be in the boiler room.

On Tuesday, March 7, the administration planned a two-hour delay to allow ample time for the boiler repairs to be made. The school was closed for the remainder of the week as repairmen worked on the air quality of the building. School was cancelled for the elementary students, and high school students were transported to East Forest High School.
