HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Clarion tennis team concluded its stay in South Carolina with a shutout win, defeating Arcadia 9-0 at Hilton Head Island on Friday morning.

The Golden Eagles (5-4) won their last two matches of the trip to go back over .500 in dual matches.
Everybody on the court went 2-0 on Friday, and all but one singles competitor won in straight sets. Alivia Arnold and Maria Snyder started with an 8-3 victory over Zoe Foglia and Amanda Shulski in the No. 1 double match, while Allie Probst and Michelle Petrilla routed Allyson Naiken and Janelle Bradly by an 8-1 score. Wrapping the doubles session was Vinisha Reddy and Katie Benson, who beat Maeghan Myers and Casey Boldt by an 8-2 score.
Arnold gave up just one game to Naiken in the No. 1 singles match, winning 6-0, 6-1, while Probst was perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 decision over Myers. Reddy beat Bradly 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles match, and Snyder won 6-2, 6-0 over Amanda Shulski. Benson survived a first-set tiebreaker to beat Boldt in the NO. 6 singles match, and Petrilla bounced back from a second-set loss to defeat Foglia 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (5).
