Forest County Student Receives Special Recognition for PLCB Poster Contest

MARIENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A first grade student at East Forest Elementary school was recently chosen for a special recognition by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Vera Heferle (pictured above) entered a poster contest sponsored by the PLCB about alcohol awareness. The Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest is a creative and fun way for students to depict the positive alternatives to underage drinking, such as getting involved in sports, playing games, or volunteering in the community.

There were nearly 800 submissions from all over Pennsylvania, and 53 of the entries were chosen for recognition.

A ceremony honoring the winners will be held in Harrisburg, and the winning posters will be displayed in the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.
