Firefighters Battle Barn Fire on Fisher Road
The Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call around 6:50 a.m. Monday.
Fire Chief Bill Stroup reported that an electric fence shorted near the small barn causing the fire. He estimated that damage was between $500.00 and $1,000.00.
“Fortunately, it was a very small fire,” Stroup said. “When you get a call about a barn fire, you never know what you are in for.”
According to Clarion County 911 Director Ron Wolbert, four fire companies were dispatched, including Strattanville, Clarion Fire & Hose, Limestone Volunteer Township Fire Department, and Millcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department, but Millcreek was called back due to the size of the fire.
Clarion Hospital EMS also responded to the scene.
All units were headed back to their stations at 7:23 a.m.
