John C. Reed

John C. Reed, 63, of Fisher, passed away Thursday evening, March 23, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born on August 17, 1953 in Brookville; son of the late Mac and Evelyn Biesel Reed.

John first worked at Varner Drilling, after that he started Reed Drilling and was the owner and operator.

He was a member of the Clarion Eagles Club.

John is survived by his daughter, Katie Reed of Fisher, two step children, Sherry Hornburger of Limestone and Shelly Miller of Stattanville, three grandchildren, Michael Rizzo, Kaylee Reed, and Keagen Reed, and three step grandchildren, Donielle Beichner, Cassandra Bolt, and Shallah Anthony.

He is also survived by one sister, Patricia Snyder of California, three brothers, Bob Reed and his wife Barbara of Sigel, Dennis “Hip” Reed and his wife Molly of Clarion, and Mac “Smoke” Reed of California, two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Reed of New Castle and Sally Reed of Shippenville, and a number of nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Richard Reed.

The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion handled the arrangements.

There will be no public viewing.

A Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Fisher Fire Hall with Rev. John Monger, pastor of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rimersburg, presiding.
