CUP Men’s Golf in Seventh After Day One at Coaches Collegiate Invite

CROFTON, Md. — The Clarion University men’s golf team currently sits in seventh place with a score of 640 (+64) after completing day one of competition at the Coaches Collegiate Invitational Classic at Crofton Country Club.

The two-day event concludes tomorrow morning from Crofton.

The Blue and Gold currently have two members sitting within the top 20 overall leader board. Nathan Sandberg and Loren Dukate are both currently tied for 16th overall with scores of 156 (+12) after two rounds. While Dukate managed to improve on his round-one score of 79 by one stroke in round two, Sandberg turned in an even 78 in back-to-back performances.

Mitch Faulkner trails Sandberg and Dukate by five strokes, coming in next highest tied for 33rd overall with a two-round score of 161 (+17).

Rounding things out for the Golden Eagles was Cameron Kockler and Joe Kerrigan at 45th and 46th, respectively. Kockler shot an 88 in round one but managed a strong second effort in round two, shooting an 81 for a two-round score of 169. Kerrigan also managed an improvement, going from 86 to 84 for a score of 170.
