VALENCIA, Spain — Authorities in Spain said they intercepted a shipment of bananas that included 57 fake fruits hiding packages of cocaine.
The Guardia Civil police said investigators working in tandem with the county’s Tax Authority examined the shipment that arrived in the Mediterranean port of Valencia from South America and discovered 57 of the bananas in the shipment were resin decoys concealing 15.4 pounds of cocaine.
