BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The President of Brookville Little League, who also happens to be a state prison guard, was arrested for drug possession on Tuesday, March 21, by Brookville Borough Police.

Craig Griffin, 37, of Brookville, was seen smoking marijuana in public and approached by an undercover officer around 8:50 p.m. at a Little League event at Dirty Erma’s Bar, near the Brookville Area Little League fields.

Griffin was patted down and found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances.

Griffin allegedly said that because he is the Little League President and a state corrections officer, he should be released.

Griffin also said that the only reason he was out that night because he was at a Little League function. Griffin, who is a state corrections officer at SCI-Forest, has also been a youth football league coach in Brookville.

Griffin was charged with four misdemeanors, including possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession, and two counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 11 in front of District Judge Greg Bazylak.

The investigation continues by Brookville Police and the state Attorney General’s office.
