Norman C. Farland

Norman C. Farland, age 79, of Dempseytown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Oil City, PA.

He was born in Coraopolis, PA on April 11, 1937 to the late Norman C. and Alice (Miesch) Farland, Sr. Norman served in the U.S. Navy as Fireman aboard the U.S.S. Los Angeles.

He worked as a guard at the former J&L Steel Corporation in Aliquippa, PA for over 30 years until retiring.

He loved fishing and always looked forward to spending the first day of trout with his daughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Teri Walters and her husband, Clint, of Tionesta, PA, and by several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

No public visitation is planned; all services held will be private.

Burial will be in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
