HARRISBURG, Pa.– The Altoona Curve led briefly but a go-ahead, three-run homer by Raudy Read lifted the Harrisburg Senators to a 6-2 win in Sunday afternoon’s series finale at FNB Field.

The Curve (2-2) settled for a split in the four-game, season-opening series with the Senators (2-2).

Altoona claimed a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning on a two-run double by Jordan Luplow, one of his two hits in the game.

In his Double-A debut, Curve starter JT Brubaker (Loss, 0-1) had allowed just one run prior to the sixth, which came on an RBI single from Andrew Stevenson in the third inning. Stevenson added to the lead in the eighth with a two-out, two-run single to push the Harrisburg advantage to 6-2.

Brubaker allowed four earned runs on eight hits, walking four and striking out three over 5 1/3 innings. Jared Lakind pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in his season debut. John Kuchno allowed the final two runs in his one inning of work.

Austen Williams (Win, 1-0), pitched six innings and allowed just two runs on five hits for Harrisburg. He struck out nine. Brauilo Lara and Derek Self combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

The Curve continue the seven-game road trip with the first of three games in Richmond on Monday night. Right-hander Tanner Anderson is scheduled to start for Altoona in his Double-A debut, opposed by Richmond lefty Matt Gage. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at The Diamond.
