Margaret J. Reinsel

Margaret J. Reinsel 84 a resident of Oakwood Heights in Oil City died there at 3:30 A.M. Sat. April 8, 2017 after a period of declining health. She had been a resident there since Nov. of 2013.

Born in Oil City, PA. on Dec. 22, 1932, She was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Sara C. Davis Reinsel.

Margy attended St. Joseph Grade School and was a graduate of OC. Senior H.S. and attended Clarion University where she enjoyed studying History especially the Civil War.

She worked as an assistant for Dr. Skinner for a number of years, and as a Nursing Assistant at Polk Center.

She then attended Wil-Mar Beauty School in Oil City to get her beautician’s license.

She then went on to become an instructor at the school for many years passing on her time and talents to those that wanted to learn. She would later operate her own salon and work for others in the Oil City area until she retired.

Prior to living at Oakwood Heights, Miss Reinsel had resided on Bissell Ave. in Oil City with her parents and sister, resided in Henrys Bend, President and at Tionesta Manor.

In her earlier years, she enjoyed reading, fishing, boating and she was a great swimmer at Henrys Bend, and also enjoyed bowling at Jackson’s and the music of the 1940’s. Her favorite movie was Gone with the Wind.

She would knit and crochet and work with ceramics. While living in President she took up the hobby of bird watching along the river.

She and her sister Pat would like to take long rides in the country looking for unique antiques, yard sales and good places to dine. In her lifetime she had a lot of cats and eight dogs.

She was of the Catholic Faith and had attended St. Joseph Ch. in Oil City and St. Anthony in Tionesta.

The last of eight children she was preceded by her sisters Janet Jectus (Dziekciasz) and Patricia A. Reinsel and brothers Joseph A., J. Edward, John W., Robert M. ( Rube) and Daniel A. Reinsel. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Wed. in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory. Because of Holy Week, the Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Thursday with Fr. John Miller, presiding.

Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church Development Fund.
