Henry Wade “Hank” Aaron

Henry Wade “Hank” Aaron, of Shippenville, passed away on April 10, 2017 at home following an extended illness. He was 83 years of age.

Born on April 17, 1933 in Oil City, he was the son of the late Andrew and Marie (Yeaney) Aaron.

After he graduated from high school, he worked as an electrician and in several other trades. He retired from Knox Glass.

On June 16, 1956 in Crates, Clarion County, he married the former Connie Willison, who survives.

Hank enjoyed fishing, playing cards, square dancing with the Fiddle-A-Rounds and bicycling. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Mark A. Aaron and wife Victoria, of McMurray, PA; his daughter, Sue Durante and husband David, of Hope Valley, RI; and grandchildren, Dana M. Aaron, of Brooklyn, NY, Christine N. Aaron, of Minneapolis, MN, and Lauren E. Durante & Lindsey C. Durante, both of Hope Valley, RI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anastasia Caldwell.

Memorial donations may be made to either the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion PA 16214 (www.clarion-fumc.org), or the Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurse Association, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214 (www.cfvna.org).

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 10 — 11 a.m. in the Gathering Area at the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion PA 16214.

Funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Arnie Rhodes, pastor emeritus, and Rev. Kevin R. Haley, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion County.
