Sawmill Center to Host Folk Music Competition

COOKSBURG, Pa. (EYT) — The Sawmill Center for the Arts will hold a Folk Music Competition on Saturday, May 13.

The event is from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Three divisions will compete for $1,000.00 in prize money: fiddle, guitar, and banjo/mandolin.

Any musician wishing to compete can register by calling 814-752-2959.  Registrations will also be accepted the day of the event beginning at noon.

The public is invited to come and enjoy the music.

There will also be crafters and food vendors on hand.

Admission is free.

This event will be held rain or shine.

At 6:00 p.m. a hoe down square dance will be held in the Sawmill’s large instruction room.

Attendees are invited to stay and dance and spectators are welcome.

Also, the Sawmill Center has several unique festivals planned for the 2017 season.
