ERIE, Pa. (EYT) — The manhunt for the Cleveland man accused of murdering an elderly man and posting it to Facebook is over.

According to a published article on nbcnews.com, the body of Steve Stephens was found in a car in Erie.

Pennsylvania State Police said that a tip from a person placed Stephens near a McDonald’s restaurant late Tuesday morning.

A brief pursuit followed before Stephens shot and killed himself, according to state police.

Police said the pursuit lasted about two miles before Stephens used a handgun to kill himself.

Stephens was on the run after posting footage of the alleged killing of Robert Godwin, 74, in northeast Cleveland near Lake Erie on Sunday.

A $50,000.00 reward was offered by the FBI and other federal authorities for information leading to the arrest of Stephens.

Police received hundreds of tips from across the country, and those included possible sightings of Stephens in Pa.
