Man Seriously Injured When SUV Crashes into Tree in Eldred Twp.

ELDRED TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A Brookville man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Caldwell Corners Road Monday afternoon in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

According to Marienville-based State Police, Richard P. Kolcun, 75, was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra north on Caldwell Corners Road around 1:00 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a right turn.

The vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree.

Kolcun was trapped inside the Sierra before Sigel Volunteer Fire Department/EMS and Pinecreek Volunteer Fire Company extricate him.

Kolcun was treated at the scene by Jefferson County Emergency Services before being flown by STAT MedEvac helicopter to Altoona Regional Medical Center.

The Sierra was towed by McPherson Auto Body.
