ELK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A fire in a burn barrel got a little out of control Tuesday afternoon, but the Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department responded in a few minutes and extinguished it before any real damage occurred.
While the fire was small, nearby gas lines were cause for some alarm.
Cindy Knight was burning some debris in a burn barrel at her property on Pine City Road, near the intersection of Route 322, when some nearby brush and dry leaves caught fire.
