St. Petersburg Man Accused of Having Sex with Minor

ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa.(EYT) – A St. Petersburg man is facing statutory sexual assault charges. Police allege that he used Facebook to contact a 15-year-old girl for sex.

According to online court documents, Butler-based State Police filed criminal charges against 20-year-old Anthony Painter, of St. Petersburg.

According to a criminal complaint, on April 11, Painter made arrangements through Facebook to meet the girl. During the conversation between the two, Painter allegedly asked the girl to send him nude photos and videos of herself.

The girl said that she sent nude and partially nude photos to Painter, and he sent photos of his genitals to her and then told her to delete them, the complaint states.

A forensic interview was conducted with the victim. She said she was awakened by Painter who was trying to call her on Facebook. She said that Painter told her he would meet her in 10 minutes and that he would be in a black car, the complaint continues.

The victim told police that she followed his instructions, and they drove away a short distance in his car, ending up on a gravel road where Painter parked, and they had sex, according to the complaint.

Painter was interviewed on Monday and told police he didn’t know the victim or had ever messaged her in any way, the complaint indicates.

According to the complaint, the girl’s cell phone revealed several Facebook messages with Painter in which he asked her to send him sexually explicit photos and videos and to meet him for sex in his car.

Following an investigation, Painter was arraigned at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, April 17, in front District Judge Lewis E. Stoughton’s office on the following charges:

– Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2
– Unlawful Contact With Minor — Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
– Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Child Pornography, Felony 3

Painter’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on May 2 with Judge Stoughton presiding.
