CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Charges of statutory sexual assault against a Karns City man has been held for court.
According to online court documents, criminal charges against 23-year-old Jason Lee Adams, Jr., of Karns City, has been transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.
He faces the following charges:
– Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2 (3 counts)
– Unlawful Contact With Minor – Sexual Offenses, Felony 2
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
Details of the case:
According to a criminal complaint, the victim participated in an interview at the Clarion State Police barracks with Troopers Craddock and Allison on June 3, 2016.
During the interview, the victim stated that she had sexual intercourse with Adams at his Clarion Borough residence on three separate occasions between February 14, 2016 and February 15, 2016.
The victim, who was 15-years-old at the time, was living at Adams’ residence when the incidents allegedly occurred.
Adams remains in Clarion County Jail after failing to post $10,000.00 cash bail.
The case is working its way through the court system.
Previous sexual assault case:
In a separate case in 2012, Adams was charged with the following offenses:
– Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1
– Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 2
– Terroristic Threats W/ Int To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
As part of a plea deal, Adams pleaded guilty to one count of Indecent Exposure. The other two charges were dropped.
Judge James Arner ordered Adams to serve two years probation.
According to court documents, on April 28, 2016, following a Gagnon II hearing, Judge Arner ordered Adams to serve a minimum of 60 days and a maximum of 1 year, 11 months, and 29 days in Clarion County Jail and submit to a psycho-sexual assessment at Hope Center and comply with any and all treatment recommendations.”
