Lewis Keith Stright

Lewis Keith Stright, 86, of Franklin, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 16th at The Caring Place in Franklin.

Born June 14, 1930 in Frenchcreek Township, Lewis was the son of the late Wesley Merle and Nellie Evadyn Wood Stright. He married the former Donna J. Baker on June 27, 1952, and she survives.

Lewis was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War Conflict.

Prior to serving in Korea, he served two tours of duty in Europe, Africa, and the Mid-East.

He also participated in the construction of the Air Force Base at Thule, Greenland and crossed both the Equator and the Arctic Circle.

Mr. Stright retired from James Lumber Company where he worked for twenty-eight years, serving as General Manager for 10 of those years.

In his spare time when his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting, traveling, and all forms of racing.

In addition to his wife, Lewis is survived by his sister-in-law, Gladys Ghering and her husband, Lewis, of Franklin. He is also survived by his nephew, Lynn Stright and his wife, Diane of Ashtabula, Ohio; and his niece, Susan Phillips, of Franklin.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; his two infant daughters, Lisa Louise and Kimberly Jo Stright; his two brothers, Reed and Gerald Stright; and his sister-in-law, Mary Stright.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Caring Place in Franklin with Pastor Don Dittman officiating.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin PA.
