Ribbon Cutting Welcomes New Clarion Microtel
(Ribbon Cutters: Front Desk Supervisor Breda Ballentine; General Manager Ashley Provance; Microtel Brand Leader Aly El-Bassuni; SBDC Director Cindy Nellis; and Front Desk Manger Nikki Naser.)
“This is a team effort that involves the planning, site selection, architects, builders, general contractors, builders, and the team that comes together to bring this project to life,” said Aly El-Bassuni, Microtel Brand Leader and Vice President. “This beautiful property here is just one of those examples of a culmination of all that great work. Please give a huge round of applause to everybody and the greater Clarion Comity involved with this project.”
The sixty-eight-room hotel will offer guests ten singles, 46 doubles, and 12 suites.
Microtel offers hot breakfasts, a boardroom which seats 12, a lobby, a fitness room, business stations, free Wi-Fi, and a market shop. Rooms will feature expanded cable television, 42” flat-screen televisions, and upgraded bedding.
Ashley Provance is hotel general manager.
The new business is expected to add about 20 jobs to the Clarion community.
“This is an example of a product we are growing all across the US and North America,” stated El-Bassuni. “This brand was founded about 30 years ago in Rochester, New York, and it’s grown to 340 across the US and Canada. We’re feeding the pipeline. We are a very strategic brand of the Wyndham hotel group with over 8,000 hotels in the network. We have over 50 million active Wyndham Awards members and supported by a great loyalty program. We’re excited to add another great property to our portfolio.”
“Congratulations again to Ashley and everyone on her team.”

Even Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf offered his congratulations on the opening in a letter presented by Cindy Nellis, Clarion University Small Business Development Center Director.
“It’s a lot of hard work from the idea conception all of the way to seeing what we have today,” said Nellis. “I’m truly thrilled to be part of the process and from the Small Business Development Center we congratulate you and your whole team for this beautiful facility.”
The letter from Gov. Wolf said he was thrilled “to join with the Clarion University of Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center in welcoming the audience to the grand opening of the Microtel Inn and Suites.”
“Small businesses are the economic drivers of the Commonwealth’s growth and prosperity,” wrote Wolf. “As a business owner you have demonstrated innovation, entrepreneurship, and a desire to succeed. I applaud your hard work and hope that Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham will provide services for years to come.”
