Friday’s High School Baseball Roundup: Patterson Double Gives Clarion 2-1, 9-Inning Win over Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) — Kyle Patterson’s one-out double to left scored Reed Anthony from third with one out in the top of the ninth to give Clarion a 2-1 win over Brookville.

Anthony started the inning with a double and was sacrificed to third.

Those doubles were the only extra-base hits of the game for the Bobcats and it was Anthony’s second hit of the game. He finished 2-for-4. Skylar Rhoades had Clarion’s other RBI.

Tanner LaBenne led Brookville going 2-for-4 with a run scored. He was driven in by Ben Reitz.

Ryan Anthony got the win in relief for Clarion pitching five scoreless innings. He gave up three hits while striking out five. Cam Craig went the first four innings allowing one unearned run on one hit and five walks while striking out two.

Brady Caylor took the loss pitching one inning and allowing the two hits and one run.

Bryan Dworek tossed a gem going eight innings allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out two.

REDBANK VALLEY 10, UNION 3

RIMERSBURG, Pa. — Jonah Henry and Logan Wadding combined for five RBIs, as visiting Redbank Valley rolled to a 10-3 win over Union.

Henry was 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs, while Wadding was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Austin Leasure added a pair of hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Dana Logue was 3-for-3 with a run scored for Union.

Grayson Harman got the win in relief of Bryan Layton. He went 2 ⅔ innings allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out five. Layton also struck out five in three innings of work. He gave up five hits.

Isaac Yoder took the loss allowing five runs on three hits and five walks while striking out one in two innings of work.

CRANBERRY 2, NORTH CLARION 0

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. — Cranberry’s Trevor Gladdin outdueled North Clarion’s Zander Hargenrader, as the Berries eked out a 2-0 road win.

Gladding went seven innings allowing two hits while striking out five.

Hargenrader pitched seven innings giving up two runs on six hits and three hit batters while striking out four. He also had the only two North Clarion hits.

No other information was provided.
