RIMERSBURG, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a Rimersburg woman is the victim of an IRS scam.
According to police, around 6:39 p.m. on April 20, a 30-year-old Rimersburg woman was scammed out of $100.00 by someone claiming to be from the IRS.
The victim received a voicemail indicating the caller was from the IRS and that the victim owed money. If she didn’t have it, the caller stated that she could set up a payment plan by paying $100.00 up front, police say.
