Tionesta Teen Injured in Rollover Crash on Route 36

TIONESTA TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon on Colonel Drake Highway (State Route 36), south of Jamison Run Road, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

State police say around 1:32 p.m. on April 29, a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 17-year-old male, of Tionesta, was traveling south along Route 36 and negotiating a downhill, left curve in the road. The teen lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway and slid off the west side of the road, striking a utility pole on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle continued to slide through a grass yard and impacted an embankment. The vehicle then became airborne and traveled across a large ditch and overturned, coming to a rest on its driver’s side facing west.

Tionesta EMS transported the teen to Titusville Area Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

He was using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Frank’s Auto & Sons, Inc.
